In 1999 this festival was declared of National Tourist Interest in Andalusia for its historical and artistic value. The Holy Week is the main religious festival in Osuna.
Every spring Osuna is decorated for this occasion and we can appreciate by the streets the valuable imagery consisting of carvings of great value belonging to important artists such as Juan de Mesa, José de Mora, Juan de Astorga or Vicente de Tena, among others.
During the procession through the streets of this monumental Villa, a setting of unrivalled beauty, the images display in all its splendour passing through different palatial houses or mansions and beautiful convents and churches.
The fusion of art, colour and the smell of incense and orange blossom make of the Holy Week in Osuna a festivity of great tourist interest and an extraordinary event.
